Frisco City Council Made Some Changes To Grand Park Design
Recent meetings have been led by the architectural group that initially proposed the park, Jacobs Engineering, in order finalize what the park is going to look like. Most of the design of the park is done, but the Frisco City Council and Jacobs Engineering still have to agree on several small aesthetic pieces for the park. These small aesthetic pieces include the use and appearance of signs in the park, as well as the entrance to the children’s playground.
Another major topic of discussion at these meetings was the pier that the park will feature. This pier will feature three levels: one level that meets the water, a level slightly above the first level that will have chairs, and a third level on the top that will have benches to view the man-made lake that will separate Grand Park from a future development. Some people on the design team felt that the pier should feature more shade to attract more visitors to the park during the blistering heat of the Texas summer days. Shade structures are to be erected, in addition to several trees lining the back of the pier to provide an escape from the sun.
The only significant addition announced recently was that of a tree-themed playhouse on one of the hills in the park. This treehouse will have three pods that are interconnected and have netting inside of them for safety. These pods are intended to create a plethora of options for climbing and exploring for children. Sounds like a family fun time!
